About the club

Windsor Forest Bowmen was formed in 1951 and was granted Royal Patronage with His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh accepting the appointment of Club Patron. We are a target archery club catering for Recurve, Compound and Longbow. We also cater for traditional (hunter type) and barebow styles as some of the club members branch out into field archery. We offer beginners courses at times through the year and our archers regularly attend competitions across the region and we take part in winter and summer postal competitions too.

We are fortunate to have sole use of St Stephen’s Field, part of the Windsor Home Park Recreation Ground, which allows for a safe environment for our shooting with Windsor Castle providing a fitting backdrop.

To find our club house just click on the Find Us button at the top of the page. We’re in the process of updating our site and you’ll soon find more information regarding when we shoot but in general it is every Sunday (excluding when the field is use for the yearly Windsor Horse and  Dogs show.

The club has many members but we are always looking to increase our numbers. For information concerning our Membership types please contact the Club Secretary the Contact Us page. The club has two county coaches, a level 2 coach and four level 1 coaches. For information about courses that we run please click on the Courses button.
